The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. (Jeremiah 31:3)
The Lord has whispered to my heart this morning, and I have understood the beauty of His pursuit of my love. For I was not born with understanding of such a great a love, but felt the desire of the Lord as He sought out my heart and drew it near to His.
Yes…God loved me, pursued me…otherwise, how could I have loved Him who I had never seen? It was because of His love for me, His mercy and grace…that I love. I am reminded of the song… “Oh How I Love Jesus” and it’s sweet refrain… “because He first loved me.”
I rejoice in His relentless pursuit of my heart…a faithful, steadfast, enduring, “Yea…an everlasting love”…that wooed me into the comfort and joy of His everlasting peace and a confidence in Him that I may walk unashamed, unafraid, and though unworthy, receiving the benefits of His “lovingkindness.”
Lovingkindness... a word that expresses the extension of God’s mercy and grace… the kindnesses of undeserved provision, protection, forgiveness and favor because He loved, loves, and will always love us. Oh, how He loves us…
Be Blessed In Jesus' Name,
Angie
