On Age And Culture

Well, I almost could not decide whether to post this on the "Frivolous Fun" page or stick with the ministry page...I guess this is just as good a place as any...

I will begin by saying that as age sets in, the faculty of hearing diminishes. Taken out of context, I am amused at what the letter to the Hebrews states in Chapter 5, verse 11..."seeing ye are dull of hearing." (Of course, it is referring to a spiritual deafness.)

Two days ago, as I watched an Australian preacher, he kept referring to an author of whom I had never heard. He quoted passages from the book and commented on some details that impressed upon me that the author must have been an extremely godly man, as he had recorded so many spiritual truths and referenced so many scriptures! Over and over again in his accent, he would refer to this author, "Jerry Meyer".  I wondered if he was of any relation to Joyce!

Anyway, this went on for about 5 minutes before I realized that I had encountered the problem of age and culture. I had not heard him clearly, and his native accent was unfamiliar to me. I came to realize that the author of the book that he spoke of was none other than the prophet, Jeremiah!

Yes, I am smiling...I think God may be too!   (o:

Be blessed and have a wonderful weekend in Jesus' Name,
Angie
