The Power Of The Holy Spirit In Us

I know that God is moving in a mighty way. Suddenly, there is light shining through effectual doors of ministry that I never imagined.

Twice this week, God has shown me those doors. Nothing would thrill me more than to be able to share the love of Christ with others...to encourage the discouraged, to comfort those in trials, to help people know that there is strength, passion and purpose in our Lord Jesus Christ! I thank God for any opportunity, but I sometimes find myself saying,"What would I say?" Then, I answer myself, "Mark 13:11 says, 'But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate; but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye; for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.'"
I know that it is true that the Holy Spirit performs that which we cannot. This I know to be true and believe on God's Word, for it happens frequently to me. My husband is the pastor of a church, and he requested that I open each service with a greeting. I have little experience speaking in front of crowds of people, but my hearts desire is for every one of them to begin to recognize God's work and blessings in their lives. I am almost desperate to see people smitten with the love of God, passionate about their relationship with Jesus Christ, and following Him with a fervor and obedience that reflects in every area of their lives! (Life becomes richer, filled with purpose, and definitely exciting when you begin to see God's working in all things and especially when you recognize a supernatural move of His power and will in your life.)
Anyway, each time that I open my mouth for His purpose and glory, I end up speaking things that I never planned, thought of or rehearsed. I am often "taught" a truth at the same time, and most of the time, I cannot tell you exactly what I said. That is the power of God through the Holy Spirit. It is available to everyone who has received Christ as their Lord and Savior and is an obedient, willing vessel.
There are always opportunities, you just have to lay hold to them, trust God in them, and open your mouth. God will do the rest. With each experience, more faith comes, and walking in Him and abiding in His love and power becomes greater each day.
So why do I still have the thought, "What will I say?" Because Satan "walks about as a roaring lion, seeking who he may devour." (I Peter 5:8) He targets weakness, insecurity, and anything or anyone who seeks to do God's kingdom work. So, what do you do?  "Submit yourselves therefore to God, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)
Submission is what allows the Holy Spirit's power in your life. He is the power in us to defeat Satan and perform that which we are otherwise humanly incapable of. However we ARE human, and so we not immune to the subtle advances of the enemy.
I Peter 5:8 also exhorts us to be "sober and vigilant"...to be mentally aware, on guard, able to recognize the wiles of the devil so that we may employ the power of God in our lives to destroy and rise above all that comes against us. Resisting the devil requires embracing that attitude of mental awareness and defense so that we may make the right choices and give place to the Holy Spirit to work in our lives.
I ask for your prayers in this season as doors open. Often, when doors of ministry open, we come under attack physically, mentally and spiritually. Christ has healed us, given to us soundness of mind and strength to overcome...keeping these truths mindful,
I am blessed, In Jesus' Name.

And so, you also be blessed, In Jesus' Name...
Angie
