It has been a difficult six weeks. If you understand the term Murphy's Law...well, I think that Americans just renamed the devil...and his name is not Murphy, it is Satan! Because, if he can, he will do anything to discourage, disgust, depress, debilitate and distance you from God. He purposes to take your mind off of God so that you find it difficult to dwell with the mind of Christ. Paul exhorts us...
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8)
Let me say to you that we can always find the Light of Christ in dark moments. We must determine within ourselves to find that "silver lining" in all clouds of life, because with such a mindset comes peace. In verse 9, he continues...
"Those things, which ye have both learned and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you." (Philippians 4:9)
I found myself in the height of the battle on Tuesday night. I was travelling home when a large metal hook off of a tow truck flew strategically into an air-flow vent in my bumper. That vent area is small that the chances of something like that happening while in motion is almost none...but, it happened, and when it did, it damaged my radiator and pierced the air conditioner condenser, lodging there. I had no idea what had happened...I heard a "thump" but assumed that it was a piece of rubber that had hit up under my vehicle. The only indication that something was amiss was that the air conditioner quit blowing cool air. I drove for miles with the window down.
I took a wrong turn, and realizing it miles later, I decided to exit from the highway and call my husband for directions. I waited in a Food Lion parking lot, trying the air conditioner one more time. When I did, the radiator blew. Miraculously, I had travelled over an hour after the incident...
Long story short, the wrong turn was a right one, because God was strategically placing me where I could receive help and share blessings. Better was it to be in a well-lit parking lot than on a dark busy highway with no station for miles. The ladies in the Food Lion were amazing, and God would have it that one of them had a vehicle and service contract just like mine. She was able to access phone numbers that I couldn't seem to find. The store was open until 11pm, so I had about 1 1/2 hours of comfort and safety, and as the ladies walked me to my car, the tow truck came! God's timing is always perfect.
When the radiator blew, I had prayed, "God, use this!" He is Mighty to perform those things which we ask in submission to His will. My mouth opened, and God began to work...What the devil had meant to defeat was opportunity for God to work. I pray that God is still at work in the midst of this situation...that a life may have been touched or a soul saved... a seed planted, watered or harvested.
Christ made his disciples "fishers of men". He used a hook in this situation...thanks be to God. And, although there is expense where this is involved, I have peace. God protected me, blessed me and will continue to do so. There is much more worth in a saved soul than the cost of repairing a vehicle!
If you helped or encouraged me that night, and you are reading this blog...Thank you and may God bless you! Pray that God will continue to use and work in this! I still do not have my vehicle and I am driving a rental provided by my insurance, thanks be to God! There are still opportunities and places where the Light may be shed abroad...Let there be LIGHT!
Be Blessed In JESUS' Name,
Angie
