Unchained...

This was written over three years ago...and I finally became truly free. I have wondered many times what it was about putting it to paper that made the difference...it wasn't something that I did not understand.

So, now I encourage people to journal their thoughts and emotions. There is something about writing that helps to release things that are difficult to express verbally.

Unchained

Relationships can leave lives broken,
Hearts that hurt from words unspoken,
Or words that pierce, cut and shatter
Feelings as they bruise and batter.
Fractured lives sometimes never heal
From hurt and fear and shame concealed.
Wounds create emotional scars,
Make life feel like it's lived behind bars,
And hold captive hearts waiting to be free
Of sin, mistakes, and misery.

Only Jesus can stop the pain.
His love’s so strong, it breaks the chains
And puts together puzzled parts
And scattered pieces of broken hearts.
Only Jesus casts out brokenness
Far as the east is from the west,
Removes the sins that cause shame,
Resentment, anger, fear and blame,
Replacing bitterness and strife
With LOVE He purchased with His life.
