There is a time for everything, and if you miss it, well...you miss it. There are opportunities that we have while the time is right...then, one day, it's too late.
There are a few opportunities missed that are grievous...those in which we miss being in the center of God's will for our lives are quite noticable. They are the ones that you can never redeem, because that season is over.
What if God asked you to be a witness today? What if the person that you were supposed to witness to was prepared to receive a word that could offer salvation? What if you refused to obey God and the next time you see that person, there is no time, his heart has become hardened, or he has had a bad experience and rejects your witness?
When God asks us to do something, it is necessary to be obedient. When He places us in a position, we need to recognize His purpose for our lives.
This is a poem that I wrote a long time ago. It is, of course, about me and how I came to the realization that I had missed a lot...not necessarily because I wanted to, but I wonder if I could have made any changes in my life that would have made a real difference...
Looking back, I know I missed a lot of life, you see.
If there’s one thing that I could say…Don’t try to be like me.
I had no time for coloring, no time to play with clay.
I assumed you learned most things at school while I worked everyday.
And, I was blessed to have some help from friends and family,
But it did not make up for the time that was meant for you and me.
Please forgive me and remember, when you have children of your own,
That sometimes it’s necessary to just hang up the phone.
And just try staying home with them a little while and play,
Although at work you can’t afford to miss another day.
Because if, in fact, you never do…just look at what you’ve lost,
And there’s no way to buy it back…you don’t know what life costs.~
Don't miss opportunities.
Be blessed,
Angie
