"Sign" of the Times

In today’s society, there is little use for handwriting skills. With our technologic culture, the need for cursive writing has become so diminished, that it is not even taught in many schools today. It is sad to think that our signatures… which we once considered a method of identity in our physical absence… have almost become obsolete. Each of us may as well develop a “signature X” that is unique to each of us, for soon, no one will know how to even read names written in cursive. How sad.

The spiritual truth to be seen in all of this is the fact that God’s Word is identifiable to those who know the writings of the Bible. Many Christians “listen” to preachers and teachers, but do not find time to study the Word for themselves. Those who are not familiar with the whole Word will not be able to discern the difference between the truth and a lie. In Matthew 24:24, the Bible warns, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Wake up and see the “handwriting on the wall”! Those who do not study God’s Word will not be able to see HIS hand. Those who neglect study in the Word of God will not be able to identify who and what are truly His, and who and what are not. God’s Signature, His Nature, His Ways are unchanging. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”

Proverbs 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Study God’s Word so that you may remain free of entanglement inside of the “wisdom” and ways of the world, and the great deception that is coming.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, ‘If ye continue in My Word, then are ye my disciples indeed, and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free’.” (John 8:31-32)
