Unchained

I am quite sure that I have posted this poem before, but I am realizing more and more everyday that it is my testimony of the freedom that is offered by Jesus Christ...

“Unchained”

 Relationships can leave lives broken,

Hearts that hurt from words unspoken,

Or words that pierce, cut and shatter

Feelings as they bruise and batter.

Fractured lives sometimes never heal

From hurt and fear and shame concealed.

Wounds create emotional scars,

Make life feel like it’s lived behind bars,

And hold captive hearts waiting to be free

Of sin, mistakes, and misery.

Only Jesus can stop the pain.

His love’s so strong, it breaks the chains

And puts together puzzled parts

And scattered pieces of broken hearts.

Only Jesus casts out brokenness

Far as the east is from the west,

Removes the sins that cause shame,

Resentment, anger, fear and blame,

Replacing bitterness and strife

With LOVE He purchased with His life.
