Shadows...

         Last night, I was outside with the puppy when a shadow flew across us. We happened to be standing under a light, and I looked up to see what had made the large shadow. It was nothing more than a large moth, although I thought that I may see a very large bat.
    My attention turned back to the puppy, and God spoke something so clearly to my spirit. "The moth was small in comparison to the shadow that it made...Although you are small, when you are close to God, you make a big impact...people notice.
     As a Christian, our actions speak louder than words. People are watching! Stay close to God and walk in His light...as a Christian, you can greatly impact your world!
     On the flip side, there is also a significant life-application to recognize in this. Sometimes, issues in life seem so overwhelming! Just like the moth, though, they are small... the problem is that we are focused on the "shadow".  In actuality, the problem is minute, but the fears and dismay it causes can consume our minds and hearts. Before we know it, are walking its shadow.
     The key to overcoming these issues is recognizing how big God is and how small these issues really are. If you look at the light long enough, it is difficult to see anything...ever looked at the sun and could hardly see once you looked away? We need to realize our need to focus on God, His promises and remember the ending...WE WIN!!! Jesus overcame sin and death...certainly life's issues pale in comparison to His power and love for us!
