A friend of mine recently text me and said that her three-year old deemed this Christmas the "Best Christmas EVER". Immediately, the Holy Spirit spoke to me in a very real and personal way..."the BEST LIFE ever". That is God's plan for us...it is OUR CHOICE how we view it and how we do it. And that's all I'm going to say about that...
The same little girl turned around and lovingly gazed at me in church last Sunday. With eyes full of compassion, she pointed to a cut on my finger and asked, "Did you fall down?" I could not lie...no, I didn't, but yes, I did. Don't we all fall down...spiritually? Sin is our downfall...and that's all I'm going to say about that...think about it.
And finally, this same little girl came to Bible Study with her mother and was AMAZING for over 3 and 1/2 hours. She and I shared crayons and cookies...then she turned the page of the coloring book and blew my mind. On that particular page, there was a character kneeling at the feet of another. She pointed to the kneeling character and said, "He is forgiven."
God, You are Almighty, Lord of the universe, but more importantly, Lord of my heart. Just this morning, You quietly spoke into my spirit about the blood of Christ and how we must find ourselves at the foot of the cross to be covered by the blood...the blood that purchased me, redeemed my ransomed soul and covered my sin so that I may come into Your Presence...to be Your child. I imagined myself, kneeling (at the
Cross)...just as the character on the page of that coloring book. I think of the song "Near The Cross" and know that if I should stand at a distance, that I am out of Your perfect will, chancing a fall through prideful self-sufficiency. Father, I am grateful. Help me remain faithful. Keep me near the Cross and covered by the Blood of Christ, In Jesus' Name...
It is incredible that this small child understands about forgiveness. In her little spirit, she has understanding of a spiritual "posture"...that is, she understands the concept of humbling oneself to receive.
What I find even more incredible is that her little mind was thinking in spiritual terms. Oh, that we may become like a child, for Jesus said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3-4)
Be Blessed, In Jesus' Name,
Angie
