Recently, I was writing part of my testimony, and I mentioned paths that I had taken in life that were not those which God had planned for me. I wrote that I had "gone ahead of God and left Him in the dust of paths that I chose as I blazed ahead of Him."
Later, I thought of that statement and how true it is...Proverbs 14:12 says, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
No coincidence that we are made from the dust of the ground and will return to it one day. Yes, these paths that I chose were paths of death...represented by the "dust" that I stirred up while walking through those dry, desolate places. The dry places that we tend to go through are often of our own choosing, for if we "walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful," then we shall be blessed and be "like a tree planted by the rivers of water" and "not wither." (Ps. 1:1-3)
For whatever reason, when we think we know what is best for our lives, we are rejecting all that God has for us and placing ourselves in a position higher than that of our Creator, God. We act as if we don't need His help until we are faced with difficulty that is much larger than life itself and we turn around, and all we can see is the dust cloud. Praise God, by His grace, when the dust settles, He will pick us up and carry us the rest of the way!
Be Blessed In Jesus' Name,
Angie
