Voting on Purpose

Election Day is just weeks away. Limited choices force people into tough decisions or even a choice not to vote.

As I listened to a pastor today, it came to my attention that we are so drawn to look at people, politics, platforms, and parties that we easily forget two of the most important things we can forget...principles and purpose. If we can view this election from an eternal perspective and prioritize God's kingdom principles and kingdom purpose, we will be see this nation prosper again.

There are four Biblical principles that we should never compromise for political expedience. Theses should be "non-negotiables" where your opinion and vote is concerned because they are principles and convenants that are outlined in God's Word. God's people should never be willing to forfeit these things that God has given them responsibility for...

*Family
*Life
*Marriage
*Freedom

In the Lord's Prayer, we pray..."Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done...". Kingdom is representative of the realm or domain of authority. If we want to receive the best that God has for us, then we have to remain true to the maintaining those foundational covenant principles that He established for us. We must allow these to rule in our lives. When we submit to the authority of God in our lives, we will be established under His protection and provision.

As our Creator and Heavenly Father, the LORD says,"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all of your heart. And I will be found of you, and will turn away your captivity..." Jeremiah 29:11-14.

Think of some of the decisions that have been made in our country in the past decade. How can we expect God to hear our prayers and heal our land?  As a country we have not for the principles that He has ordained for our lives. How can we expect Him to "turn our captivity" ?

When we want what God wants, "His will", then we must make a choice to stand firm with kingdom purpose in mind. Let me encourage you to vote with kingdom purpose.

As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15

Be Blessed In Jesus' Name,
