So, I have debated placing this on my homepage or in the category listed above as "Frivilous Fun". I thought it best to put it here as so many people may not click on the other pages of this blog, and to be honest with you, they are somewhat slower to be updated...just depends. I often update my "Fotos" but the other pages suffer, quite frankly.
Anyway, yesterday was a rainy day. Alayna had a friend over and they were on the computer. I was in the kitchen. I kept hearing things about "testimony" and "witness". I thought that it was amazing that the girls were talking about things concerning the Bible. Honestly, at age 11 and 12, I thought it was a miracle! There are so many other things that girls talk about.
Sadly, I soon discovered that they were playing a game on the computer that involved crime, court, etc...how disappointed I was! But I had to laugh at myself to think of how gullible that I can sometimes be! LOL!
However, I think that if we will start to think of ourselves witnesses that possess valuable testimony (information concerning our Christian experience) that defends the truth of the Gospel and our faith, we can totally relate these words to the "witness" and "testimony" that we think of in judicial terms. I never really thought about these words in that sense...I don't know why.
I Peter 3:15-16 says, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed."
We are called to be defenders of the faith. Just as importantly, we need to be ready to utilize our testimony to persuade those swayed by the accuser. We will take the stand carrying the victory of Christ and the promises of God in our hearts, knowing that God will judge...
Just a little "food for thought" that was stirred up in my kitchen... (o:
Be blessed In Jesus' Name...
