What's Love Got To Do, Got To Do With It?

God is Love.
So, in my estimation, the answer to the above question is..."EVERYTHING!"

As I sat here this afternoon, amidst the "property tax-time drama" of figuring, refiguring and referring to the calender, I was in awe of what God is doing. Two weeks ago, I felt pretty stressed about "tax time" drawing near, and began making budgeting decisions. To be honest, I could not figure it out...and I trust God! It was a moment of weakness.

I made the decision to focus on a bridal shower that I was planning, and I totally forgot about everything that was stressing me. I laid it down, and never looked back...until today. Three weeks will pass quickly, and I suddenly remembered that I needed to check my tax bills. Yep, they were still there, God hadn't disappeared them yet...awww )o:  However, as I looked at the checkbook and finances, I was amazed at the way in which God has been working things out...all because He loves us!

In relief, I leisurely turned the calendar over, my mind stayed upon Him. (Isn't God amazing?!) I marvelled at what was written on the back of the calendar. It was a "Conversion Chart" with liquid, dry and linear measures, as well as metric conversion tables. I was still thinking about God when I noticed the word "rod". "Yes," I thought, "the rod of God." Moses. hummmmm.

Read Exodus 4. It contains the first mention of the rod which God commanded Moses to use for a miraculous sign to his people "that they may believe that he LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you." Moses cast the rod on the ground, and it became a serpent. When he reached out his hand and caught it, it returned to a rod. Talk about change!

You may be asking, "So what's God got to do with a rod and this conversion chart?"

I guess when you are thinking about Him, He is about EVERYTHING! He made it all, He is above all and in all...He is our All in All, from the beginning to the end, the  Alpha and the Omega. He can change all things...conversion has everything to do with the way Christ operates! He can take what Satan meant for bad and change it for our good, giving us a testimony of His glory!

Well, just a little food for thought... just because it is interesting, I thought I would share some info off of that conversion chart.

40 rods = 1 furlong.
8 furlongs = 5280 feet (1 mile).

So, 8 into 5280 feet equals 660 feet....one furlong = 660 feet.

40 into 660 feet = 16.5 feet...so a rod is 16.5 feet long.

Here is a silly thought...Now, if I were an Israelite back in the day, and Moses threw down a rod that long and it turned into a snake that long, it would definitely make a believer out of me! I guess that if the rod was actually that long, some of those folks probably ran, and thats why God had to do two more miracles to convince the Israelites that He was their God and had chosen Moses to lead them out of Egypt.
