I had my first book signing today…
It was a good day…a very good day in the Lord. Before I left the house, I placed two sheets of the poem below among my things. Last week, I had attempted to print a copy on card stock for my nephew and his wife…they had a wedding reception, and I wanted to give them something personal. There were technical difficulties over and over. In fact, I was late in getting to the reception because the printer would pull a piece of paper (or in my case, the card stock) through before printing and so I ended up with two extra copies on regular paper. I did not throw them away, because there is purpose for everything. So, I packed them up and took them to the book signing.
The first copy went to the kind lady who hosted my signing…it is her anniversary this month. The other copy remained on the table. The second lady who approached me to purchase a book had read it, and she asked if she could have that copy. It thrilled me that she asked! God always has a plan.
The lady then proceeded to share with me that her husband has Alzheimer’s. She misses him very much…you can tell. She understands that there is still love and commitment there, and that their love and relationship remains. The poem seemed to fit….
Read it again, and imagine the love of your life having Alzheimer’s. I almost wonder if God gave me the words solely for her…
How Great Thou art, my God, that You would plan her comfort through my hand. How Great Thou art, Lord, that You love people through us through Your Masterful orchestration of our lives, passions and Your planned purpose for our lives. You are amazing, my God…
Be Blessed, In Jesus’ Name,
Angie
