God is so good! I am not very computer literate, so creating this blog was an arduous (but rewarding) task. It was something that was encouraged by the publisher that would aid in marketing the book...and it was something that I had considered for quite a while because I love to write and share what God gives to me.
As I shared with a dear friend my journey in creating a blog and blogging last night, I also shared WAIT with her. Spiritual discussions are always a blessing, because God begins to reveal more and more of His heart. She is a precious woman of God, like a mother in many ways. She seeks God and knows His voice...it is always amazing to hear her testimonies. As I shared "Wait" with this dear friend, she pointed out something that I did not see, but that I desire to share with you.
As I said before, "NOT NOW" certainly has negative connotations. However my friend commented, "Look at those words...you see 'NO' and 'NO'...is it any wonder that it is difficult to feel encouraged by this?" "NOT NOW" does not evoke a response of hope and an attitude of enthusiasm for the promise of what is to come.
If what you have prayed and asked is in accordance with God's Word, then wait. Be encouraged with the hope of His promises and exercise patience...this is a God-given tool that aids us in His plan for our lives. The Bible says:
Jesus said, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:7-8
And, "If ye shall ask any thing in my Name, I will do it." John 14:14
I John 3:22 says, "And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight."
These are beautiful promises for the children of God. These Scriptural passages are truths that are without knowledge of God's time and planned purposes.Trust in Him, for if the door is not closed, then it is just not opened wide enough yet...see the light still streaming through it? Be encouraged, enthusiastic for the hope of things to come, be patient and WAIT upon the Lord.
I think of the instances when I have told my child "Not now." She sometimes will pout. She sometimes will be persistant, which can be annoying...it almost makes me want to back up and just say "No!" because "Not now" means that I have intentions to do whatever she had asked, however she received the negativity that "NOt NOw" conveys...her concern is that it may NOt happen! See?
Referring back to Isaiah 40:31...I can see an aspect of rest, restoration, and renewal in waiting. Maybe my next blog will be the "Rest of the story..."
Be blessed in Jesus' Name...
"WAIT"
